GENEVA YMCA SWIM TEAM
Our growing club team competes against other area swim teams, and we also attend larger YMCA and US Swimming sanctioned meets. The team is divided into four levels. Level One is for swimmers new to the sport, and will focus on technique and conditioning. Level Two will continue to focus on technique as well as further conditioning. Level Three is for experienced swimmers who have the ability and willingness to train at sustained levels for ninety-minute sessions. Level Four is our Senior group that will continue to refine advanced techniques and train for two hour sessions. New swimmers must have skills that will allow them to swim several 25-yard swims, using front and back crawl.
Swimmers will be assigned to these levels by the Coaching staff. There will be an evaluation session for new swimmers on the first day of practice. Parents are encouraged to attend this session in order to talk with the Coaching staff about placing their child on the team. Based on this evaluation, families can then sign up for the appropriate level. The Head Coach, Frank Scott, brings twenty years of coaching experience to the team. He has coached State and National Champions and All-American Swimmers from the area. |
