Self-Defense/Karate

This is a self-defense based system designed to give students quick and simple techniques for protecting themselves and others. Classes are designed for kids, adults and families who want to have an activity to participate in together. They will focus on basic martial arts skills and concepts including: awareness, balance, form, power, exercise, confidence, character and self-discipline. Upon participating in these classes, students should expect to develop and improve methods for self-defense, improve upon basic empty hand skills, and feel more confident and in control for situations. American Red-Cross Babysitting

Girls and Boys Welcome! Earn your American Red Cross Baby-sitting Certification. This course will increase your confidence level in how to deal with many situations that may arise on any baby-sitting job. This fun, interactive course teaches first aid and safety skills to prevent and respond to emergencies, how to choose safe and age appropriate toys and games, perform basic care routines like diapering, feeding and dressing, how to handle bedtime issues, prepare simple meals, identifying safety hazards & preventing injuries caring for common injuries, communication effectively with parents, finding and interviewing for babysitting jobs. Great class for all kids, even those who may not baby-sit! Cost of class includes Baby-sitter’s Training Handbook, emergency reference guide and CD for sitters to use in class and on the job!

Must be 11- 15 years old. Bring sack lunch!!

Fun, energetic class for kids with age appropriate music. Wear comfortable, athletic clothing (no jeans) and non-marking sole shoes.

Youth Vocal Lessons (9-12yrs)

 

Your voice is the most unique instrument you will ever have and no other voice is like it.  In these group sessions, you will develop your vocal ability through breath support, proper warm-ups and a variety of vocal techniques to improve your overall sound.  Join us for learning how to properly use and care for your voice.  Min. 3/ Max. 8    Staff:  Priscilla Gonzalez

Vocal Lessons will return in the Fall.

 

Kids Yoga  June 13-July 25th (no class on 7/4/12)

 

K-6th:  Kids will learn control of mind and body while having fun.  Kids participate in mindful movement, breathing activities and sharing circles.  Staff:  Ruth Rorig
